Our History
In 1985, Gary and Melanie Vaughn founded "Vaughn's Superior Carpet Care. Core services included carpet and furniture cleaning. In 1986, Gary's Mother, Doris joined Gary and Melanie in Partnership and became their office manager and bookeeper. In that same year, the Vaughn's shortened their company name to "Vaughn's Carpet Care".
In 1987, Gary's father, Gene retired from Alcoa in Richmond and started his second career in with Gary, Melanie, and Doris in their family business. Also in 1987,the Vaughn's added to their list of core services, water damage restoration.
The following year, 1988, the Vaughn's became affiliated with a company named Purofirst, and added to their list of core services, fire and smoke damage restoration. The company name was also changed to Purofirst Midwest.
In 1990, the Vaughn's moved their small business location from their homes to their new location at 1226 South 9th Street, in Richmond. In late 1990, the Vaughn's separated from Purofirst and changed their company name to "Vaughn's Clean Care". In the next year, 1991, the Vaughn's incorporated their company.
In 1995, the Vaughn's purchased a ServiceMASTER franchise, and changed their company name to Vaughn's Clean Care, Inc. dba ServiceMASTER by Vaughn. In 1996, Gene and Doris retired from the family business to pursue other life interests. Gary and Melanie purchased their shares, and became the sole owners of the family business.
In 2008, Gary and Melanie separated from the ServiceMASTER Company, and became and independent business once again. Their corporate name remains Vaughn's Clean Care, Inc. dba Vaughn's Cleaning & Restoration.
Our Company Mission Statement
We provide a special service for our customer, and we are committed personally and corporately to manage every detail that is important to that customer while we are cleaning and/or restoring their homes or businesses. We will work diligently to get their life, and their family's lives on track and back to normal. Our goal is to exceed our customer's expectations.
